A Daughter of the Samurai
This autobiography written with female grace and heartiness by a Japanese woman descending from a caste of knights of samurai. She gets married with an a Western orientated businessman and gets to know America. From her narrative we learn the huge differences between Eastern and Western view of life and we found treasures of great and ancient truths in exotic garb and we have the feeling to smell the olibanum and the cherry blossom. Since Lafcadio Hearn, we learned nothing more intimate about Japan.
