From the series: “Seichu gishi den” (Stories of the true loyalty of the faithful samurai). Depicted is the imposing scene from the 6. Akt of the Chusingura-Drama with Sampai committing seppuku. The paper in his mouth includes the promise of the 47 ronin to revenge the death of their lord. Sampai signed it with his blood just this moment.
