This scroll shows two stylized rikishi (wrestler) performing the traditional Japanese wrestling sumô. In Japan, Sumô is - besides baseball (!) the most popular sport.
Interesting and rare kagemono in such view.

Material ichimonji: Silk
Material tenchi: Paper
Material of the endpieces (jikubô): Wood
Condition: Very good, fresh colours, slight buckles in the tenchi due to storage; small wormholes in the area of the ten; damaged in the area of the lower ichimonji and the jibubo. Apart from that, however, an acceptable overall state of preservation.
