Kung Fu in South China
Nan Chuan is a sort of Chinese boxing with a rather long history and a lot of schools. The Nan Chuan which is relatively popular in various parts of Guangdong Province includes Hung Chia Chuan, Li Chia Chuan, Hsia Chia Chuan, Chai Li Fo Chia Chuan, etc. and each of them has different styles and features from other. To form this series of Chinese boxing, the essentials of the different postures of various schools were systemized and summed up. As a result, a series of systematic and integrated United Nan Chuan has been created. It has terse postures which enable every part of the body to be fully toughened, so young people are very keen on it.
Practising this series of Nan Chuan can not only enhance the body strength, but also enables you to master the art of self-defence. More over, its postures are not difficult and are therefore suitable for foreigners to learn. For this reason, ghis book is entitled "Simple Nan Chuan" and is to be wished that it may be popularized abroad.
