Dynamic Jujitsu
Over the years, Martial arts have received, attention in some cases beyond the capacity or out of proportion to the teaching ability of those who profess to dispense the art. In a way the recent spate of movies and TV have contributed to his out of proportion romanticism - the idea that thisnew knowledge would make you a superman if you learned from a master who came from the Orient. The recent revival in Jiu-Jitsu is a case in point. If a student had the choice of selecting a sensei, one who came from the Orient, or one who learned homegrown, I'm sure that the sensei from the Orient would get the nod. However, in the particular case of Professor Wally Jay, a most informative and rewarding book on jiu-jitsu is now on the market, a book that turns the spotlight back on the techniques, the why and how, of the fighting and self-defence skills that work, in the streets, and not for the dojo alone. This is not a book for "dojo poseeurs" but is an invaluable text or guide book for the serious student who wants to Jiu-jitsu his way to victory of safety in the streets - where it counts.
